On July 19, Kanazawa University held its first-ever “Appreciation Gathering” to express gratitude to those who have contributed to the Kanazawa University Fund. A total of 36 donors participated in the event, including 23 individual donors and 13 corporate donors.
The event began with a welcome address by President Takashi Wada, followed by a report from administrative staff on the activities and achievements made possible through the Kanazawa University Fund. A student who receives a scholarship funded by the university expressed gratitude, noting that the support allows them to focus on their studies.
This was followed by a report on the earthquake reconstruction volunteer activities in Noto by the Kanazawa University extracurricular activity group "Volunteer Support Station", and Noto Resilience and Revitalization Center activities by Professor Tatsuya Nishino from the Faculty of Geosciences and Civil Engineering, Institute of Science and Engineering, Kanazawa University. The chat time that followed was a lively conversation between the donors, students, faculty and staff, and it ended in a great event.
After the closing session, a bus tour of the Kakuma campus was offered to those who wished to take it. The tour included a visit to MIRAICHI Research Center, which became fully operational in July, and facilities for extracurricular activities.
